St. Edward’s Park is set in 122 acres of parkland. There are a range of residences on the site (new build & refurbished) including apartments and detached properties. The park is now a thriving community created on the site of the former St. Edward’s Hospital in the village of Cheddleton.
The hospital was constructed in 1897 to cope with the influx of patients from other
nearby asylums, this entire site was set in ancient woodland and was amazingly landscaped.
The
hospital had closed by 1999 and soon afterwards Redrow Homes started to convert many
of the former hospital buildings into apartments. Together with Bryant many new
homes were also constructed. Work is now almost complete with builders due to leave
the site by the end of 2008.
Ground Rent - UPDATE 5/12/08
As a result of the ground rents not having been collected over a period of time leading to significant arrears building up for residents who have been in occupation for some years, we believe that it is right to allow a reasonable period of time for these arrears to be paid and as a consequence we wish to allow the residents a period of 3 months from the date of your initial letter to them dated 19th November 2008.
The period during which payment should be made is therefore to be extended until 19th February 2009.
I understand that you will be sending out a further letter to the residents confirming this extension of time for payment of ground rents and as a result of my conversation with Chris Wheeler (Chairman of the residents association) he will also arrange for local notification.
This action should ease any difficulties for residents at this particularly expensive time of year whilst still allowing them to bring their accounts fully up to date prior to the next half year payment which will be due on 1st April 2009.
Thank you for your assistance.
